Upcoming EU Business in the Oireachtas, W/C 21st April

After the Adjournment last week over the death of former President Patrick Hillery, some business has been carried over to this week.

Dáil Éireann
The Dáil will resume its debate on the second stage of the Twenty-Eighth Amendment of the Constitution Bill on Tuesday. This will end on Wednesday and a motion will be laid before the House on Thursday about Committee Stage (Health Warning: this is an assumption, I could be wrong, Will know when the Order Paper is produced on Thursday)

Seanad Éireann
On Wednesday the Seanad will resume its Statements on the Lisbon Treaty. Thursday will see the Taoiseach in the House to give a statement on the Good Friday Agreement and Lisbon Reform Treaty at 14:00.

Committees
This week only the Joint Committee on European Affairs is in action. On Tuesday it will meet at 14:00 and will have discussions on the European Commission White Paper,
"Together for Health: A strategic approach for the EU 2008- 2013" and the European Commission Green Paper, "Effective enforcement of judgements in the European Union". The committee will also discuss the Forthcoming General Affairs and External Relations Council Meeting with the Minister of State with Special Responsibility for European Affairs, Dick Roche. On Thursday, the committee will hold its third public meeting on the Lisbon reform treaty. This time in Cork. The meeting will take place at 20:00 in the Aula Maxima, University College Cork.
