Public Health (Tobacco) Acts 2002 and 2004 Submission on comencement of Section 38 (1) of the Public Health Act 2002

Dear Sir/Madam,
I urge the Minister to commence Section 38 (1) of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 as soon as possible. As a student of Public Health in UCC, I am aware of the cost and damage that smoking causes. If the date proposed, Monday, 2 October 2006, is the earliest I ask that it be implemented then. This is an important measure that will deter people from smoking and make it harder for people to get addicted at a young age due to the cost factor.
