Fine Gael 'Stump Rallies'?

From my own point of view FG are reviving a political activity long dead in Irish politics!
Such mass meetings are a staple of US presidential elections but have gone into decline in Ireland over three decades. Fine Gael strategists say that by reviving the tradition Mr Kenny can deliver the party message directly and announce new policy measures.
The idea is similar to what we did at YFG's National Conference last year, twas very American with the 'In Enda We Trust' posters!
Of course im not so sure about the negative campaigning aspect of the campaign that we are about to embark on, it could damage us more.
irishelection is all about bias really. all our posters come with some sort of bias, I try to put out both my own and more balanced material.
ReplyDeleteI have problems with negative campaigning but perhaps from the overall tone it didnt come across that the idea on stump rallies is a good one. Still good post in response, makes me think.
I voted for Change. The people voted against the Health "Reforms" - against dismantling our current system. Should the former Minister for Health be reappointed (as a political expediency), there would be chaos in the Health Service. Ex-Minister Harney views patients as political pawns: moving them through A&E like rabbits into thin air - with no regard for consequences. I accept the electorate has spoken. But as a "fat-cat Consultant", I care more for my patients than a politician ever could. Brian Dublin
